Safe and Sound

We place a high priority on safety and regularly review our procedures. Collection will only be authorised by the parent or carer with an electronic door code. For emergency pick- ups a pre- arranged password is used.

We are registered by OFSTED and Surrey County Council in accordance with the 1989 Children's Act, as an approved day care facility.

Our children spend large proportions of their day off site in the local countryside or when older at our Forest School. Here they use tools, climb trees, experience hazardous flora, and mangage themselves around a fire where we often cook.

These activities teach the children to manage themselves and support their peers in hazardous situations and become responsible for their behaviour and it's consequences. As trained Forest Leaders we believe it is vital chidren experience risk managagement to be safer in the world.

Forest School

At Friends Forest School we know all about taking advantage of the learning opportunities the great outdoors can offer.

We are the first Nursery Forest School in Surrey, thanks to getting agreement from local landowners and training with the Wildlife Trust. The philosophy behind Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.

There are key elements that make Forest Schools different to simply going outdoors.
